Testimonials:
"When
moving into a new area, it’s not always easy to find a niche
that suits all your particular tastes and interests. I know
that was true for me as my family moved to Kingwood, TX. Whenever
we move to a new area, my first question for the realtor is,
“Can you get us close to a Whole Foods
Market
and a Unity Church?”
If you
are a resident of ‘The Livable Forest’ you know you have to
travel a ways to find these particular amenities, but the
quality of schools and neighborhoods beckoned us to stake our
claim. Still, there was
a part of me that longed for spiritual connection with others.
I was
looking for something nearby that offered
opportunities for me to expand my own awareness.
As it
turned
out there were others in the
area that were looking for the
exact same thing. I was strolling through a local Herbal store
when I spotted a flyer about the Holistic Living Network. It
said they meet every month; so, I visited the very next
meeting. I was amazed to be in a room surrounded by people who
speak my “language.” There were Naturopaths, angel healers,
spiritual counselors, massage therapists, acupuncturists,
paranormal investigators, hospice workers, animal healers,
herbalists, aromatherapists, life coaches, and many others, all
collaborating to get the word out to those in our area who may
be searching for this brand of spiritual food.
At that
first meeting I attended, the group was brainstorming ideas for
their Mission Statement. I loved the way this group shared
ideas in such an open and loving way. Everyone had an
opportunity to share their thoughts and all were given equal
consideration. The final version reads: Our purpose is to
provide learning and networking opportunities for those
interested in all aspects of holistic living – spiritual growth,
expanded awareness, complementary healthcare, and creating
balance in body, mind and spirit.
I
learned that individuals in the area that were looking for a
spiritually based center for people to gather together and share
ideas and information formed the Network. Their intention was
to draw out of the woodwork those who were looking for the
right spiritual fit in our
community. They have been successful in gathering like-minded
individuals seeking and offering spiritual growth and healing.
The group has been meeting since 2002 and their reach is
expanding across the Houston area, as speakers and practitioners
and interested individuals from around the city join forces. I
enjoy getting to know those people in my area and beyond, who
provide holistic services and friendships which assist me in
creating a well-balanced lifestyle in body, mind, and spirit.
Each meeting reminds me of what I have always known at the
deepest level. We are all here for a grand purpose. We are all
connected to each other. We are all here at this moment to
bring to this space our unique selves, each one a piece in the
endless mosaic that is humanity.
Many
come to the Holistic Living Network as providers of services or
invaluable knowledge. Each meeting offers time for everyone to
introduce themselves and his or her talents and gifts, hence the
‘networking’ aspect. Many others come to the meetings as
“seekers” looking for knowledge, information, and connection to
others. Seekers bring enthusiasm to our gatherings
and are welcomed warmly as we
explore the rapidly changing spiritual state of life on our
planet. On the forefront of our collective consciousness is the
current need to create peace in our world. Our meditations have
revolved around manifesting peaceful solutions to the world’s
troubles as we recognize the active roles our thoughts play in
creating our experience on Earth.
The
Holistic Living Network is committed to providing opportunities
to explore holistic and spiritual topics and a place to connect
with practitioners and others. Membership in the Network is
secured by simply attending the meetings and recruiting new
members by word of mouth. The Network offers its members
affordable advertising and various ways to promote the member’s
business. There are no dues, only the one fee for attending
each meeting, which includes admittance to the room, fellowship,
networking, education and, for those who choose to indulge, an
all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet meal.
We
invite you to join our monthly meetings and become part of our
group’s expanding awareness. Meetings are the second Tuesday of
every month from 6:30 PM to 9 PM.
Meetings are held at Café East Restaurant, 260 W. First Street
in Humble, TX, located in Bender Square at the corner of Bender

"I moved to Humble in January of 2009
and was very fortunate to have a friend tell me about this
amazing group of healers. Being new to the community, it was
important for me to connect with like-minded people and was
excited to attend my first meeting.
I was
welcomed into the HLN family and have enjoyed the presentations,
meeting the practitioners and learning new ideas.
A major event
that occurred for me at HLN was meeting Janet, an avid learner
and someone always willing to share and ask GREAT questions.
Our friendship is extremely important to me and I will always be
grateful to HLN for our meeting...there are no accidents!"

"HLN has given me a chance to grow, to
learn, to experience and to speak about things for which I am
passionate. Even thought my attendance is sporadic because of
my teaching schedule, never have I attended a meeting without
receiving some good benefit. From exploring a new study area,
technique, philosophy to gaining students and clients, HLN has
been a gift to me. Nolan, Peggy and Kathleen bring their
wonderful wisdom and energy to the group every single time and I
am grateful to them for the continued opportunities they present
to us all."

"I have been coming to the HLN
meetings for the past couple of years and am most pleased to be
interacting with so many like-minded people dedicated to the
desire of exploring what is possible about the human experience.
It is so refreshing to have this healthy energizing outlet given
the realities of daily stresses, bombardment of media and
political negativity and the world too often functioning without
the recognition of positive direction and peace.
Thank for being there and making this experience possible."
